This past meeting (on Sunday, of the 28th) was an astounding one, where each individual game dev got to show off all of the hard work they have been doing for the past month, and presented working Betas of their games with the rest of us here at HVRE. 11 games were shown (the 12th being a no-show), each one being completely different form the last: - Vince's game (now called VR:VR) - a simple racer in the style of Vaqporwave - has added better physics to the vehicles and other additions. However, for the Rules and Play version, the multiplayer aspect might have to take a backseat to other features. - Tim's game (Air Mail), a game about flying paper cranes into mailboxes, has also added some needed code, allowing the players to actually fly their cranes into mailboxes and changing the size of the birds, themselves. - Dustin's game (Toy Room) has been updated slightly; more animations have been created for the toys themselves, new interactions between the toys have also been added, and even new toys have been created (like a toy gun). - Shylo and Zachary's experimental "children's" game (called Shadow Play) has gotten an overhaul: the entire 3D room has been modeled and slightly textured, more of the 2D assets (the toys and junk lying around the room) has been created, and even more ideas for the shadows, themselves, are in the midst of being added. - Christopher's two games (Yenen's Tale and the now-known Sol Mates) are coming along nicely. Both games are seeing an injection of fresh scripts, sprites, models, textures, and added gameplay ideas, and should be fully presentable for the next Milestone meeting. - Christina's game (known as SPAce - you must pronounce the "SPA" as long as possible) has also been upgraded. New textures and bump maps have overtaken the once gray models, and the game play, itself, is now functional, thanks to some new scripts! - Shea's two games (Bubbles and Interaction) have also had some scripts, sprites, and game play mechanics added. Both games seem to be in a working state, and more than likely only need a few tweaks each before being completely done! - Leonard's game (Fluffy Water) is also coming along nicely. After adding in models and textures to create a nice looking park scene, adding in animated birds for flavor, and tweaking the scripts for game play (like adding in a night scene and interactive birds), it seems this game is also almost completely finished! Thanks to EVERYONE at HVRE who has taken time out of their days this season to want to create something from scratch or just help someone else's project. This is our last month until our last Milestone meeting, then we will have a week to get ready for the Rules and Play art gallery in July, which we will have the Dreams experience demoed there for almost a month for all to see! One last thing to mention, for those that don't get to come out to our meetings regularly, here is a recording of our latest one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNyuyiQ9KjQ
