Daring to Dream

This past weekend - of the 23rd - was very busy for HVRE (and the entire video game scene in central Kentucky, for that matter). Not only did we have our usual weekly meeting for this season's project - entitled "Dreams" - but also attended a video game conference at EKU called Vector; where indie and AAA developers, alike, came together to share what they were working on and invaluable knowledge on many aspects within the industry.
As for yours truly here at HVRE, we got to present a postmortem panel discussion on the VR title we all worked on last year ("Mortimer's Mansions" to be precise), cleverly named the Post-Mortimer VR Panel (shout out to Aeowen for that little punny). We enjoyed ourselves immensely; talking to an awesome audience, delving into where the idea for this game came from, how we went about prototyping it, and eventually what it took to get it done before last year's Lexplay convention.
We'd like to thank everyone who attended both Vector and the HVRE panel; we were extremely psyched about answering questions to those who felt like, they too, could help make something from scratch. We implore anyone out there who has even a smidgen of a hope to want to help produce a game - regardless if it is VR or not - to come out every Sunday to Kre8now Makerspace (from 1pm to 4pm) and see what we are about. I promise, we only bite on the first visit; after that, it's all cuddles and kittens!
